IEED is registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860, and also registered under FCRA, 1976 under Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. IEED is a research institute headquartered in Patna, IEED has regional and local centres in Raipur, Ranchi, Guwahati, Bhopal, New Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Panaji and Nainital etc. A panel of team of over 100 scientists, sociologists, economists and engineers engage in and implement practical, optimal-quality action-oriented research and transformative solutions to biodiversity and climate change solutions in India. The world is on the verge of missing the last moment in history to limit global warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. If the world fails to act, temperatures are likely to rise by 3.2°C by the end of this century, with devastating impacts. How does India meet the challenge of transitioning to a low-carbon economy and provide clean energy, food security, jobs and a better quality of life to its 1.4 billion population? How does it ensure that this transition is environmentally, economically viable and socially inclusive? These questions lie at the core of IEED’s research team while they work across policy research, technology development, consultancy and implementation projects.

Organizational Description

Institute of Environment & Eco-Development (IEED) is an autonomous, dynamic and innovative nonprofit making voluntary institute working at grass root level through research development,capacity building, mass awareness & activities for protection and conservation of environment. The institute has been working on abovediscipline since 2003 with a team of experienced and well expertise professionals for achieving our institutional ambition. IEED has over 65 dedicated staff and more than 100 volunteers representing varieties of disciplines and backgrounds. It works in a multi-disciplinary way to develop a common understanding and create awareness on different social and environmental issues.
